LAVENDER, MY LOVE

She withdraws
to her quiet own corner,
stand tip-toed,
head bows low,
sulking in silence,
mumbling her own
grievances, for a while.
She cries out aloud,
for their love,
and sole attention.
Hug me,
cuddle me,
carry me,
Only me, first.
She shies away people,
no longer enjoys
school, steals time away
from home,
deprives the child,
more joy to play
in sweet, safe comfort,
for love has to be
shalesslesly shared,
with the birth of
baby brother.
