SINGAPORE’S SPORTS HUB & NEW STADIUM
Singapore’s new stadium was opened on end of June, 2014. Reconstructed from the old stadium site, it cost about S$1.9 billion. It featured a dome with a retractable roof, and a sitting capacity of 55,000 people with adjustable seats. The Hub is beautifully located along the Kallang basin, Marina Bay, with swimming and other sport activities and shopping complexes. The Stadium MRT station was equally impressive.
The hawkers’ Food store was situated at the Old Airport Road, not far from Dakota MRT. In Singapore, one could travel anywhere in the city by MRT, cheap, cool and safe.
In this humble place, there were quite a few eating stalls worthy of visit; some with very long q. I preferred the sea food stores, and the mutton soup. Fried cockles with chilli, fried Herring Fish eggs, kong kong (local escargots, but harder), cuttle fish with vegetables and excellent sauce.
