CHATTERBOX, MANDARIN HOTEL, SINGAPORE

Chatterbox, Mandarin Hotel

This is one of the most expensive hawkers’ food I have visited. Despite this, it was crowded even at 1.30 pm on a week day. Few years ago, I was told, the chicken rice here was excellent, but the value for money prohibited me from going, when the same dish was very much cheaper in Malaysia. Yesterday I was invited by my sister to have lunch there. The chicken rice cost S$ 27 ++, excluding side dishes, bean sprouts cost about S9, juice about S10, house red at S12. It was my first time to dine here with a glass of red. It’s a popular dish here, with long wait.
