MEETING HAIKU/SENRYU WITH SONNET
Kan commented on my blog on Echoes 52:
Rules and law; mind made
Empathy and justice
Heart and conscience made.
This is my response to his haiku/sentry with poetry:
EMPATHY AND CONSCIENCE
Lawyers argue with sophistry by the law;
Money motivates to circumvent the flaws.
Creative poets are dead if they follow rules;
Their hearts move tools to ridicule the fools.
Rules have to be flexible to regard as fair;
Swear by the book, yet justice not there.
Without conscience, there’s no care to share;
Without empathy, justice is talks in the air.
Rules and laws are all man made and unmade;
Call a spade a spade without knowing the shades.
Empathy and justice are mere lipsticks;
Even conscience is not without tricks.
Rules and laws are there to ensure order;
Even a president could purr, slur and err.
