MALAYSIAN HAIKU/SENRYU: ECHOES 154

MALAYSIAN HAIKU/SENRYU: ECHOES 154

mauled by eagle’s fierce claws

vultures attack weak victims

lost a chunk of meat

Note:

With a pattern of mere three lines and 17 syllables, haiku/senryu unfolds deep symbolic open-ended meaning within. To critic who criticize that there’s no flow or feeling in such poetry, it is best they re- read nursery rhymes.

Yesterday our currency suffers ferocious attack by friendly foes. It affects Malaysian folks badly, not those that steal national wealth. One has to be strong and alert in self- protection; there’s no compassionate vultures by its very nature. This poetry is a memory to register that scar.
