MALAYSIAN HAIKU/SENRYU ECHOES 226: EMPIRE DREAMER

MALAYSIAN HAIKU/SENRYU ECHOES 226: EMPIRE DREAMER

gravitate in air

conquest of yoga power

majestic magic

when show is over

charred corpses to feed eagles

shame tag to the name

retreat is good grace

dead defeat is damned disgrace

welfare beat warfare

Yes, Claudia, leaders always think they will win a war, but at what cost to humanity. Even in poetry, some asked me who wrote better. I replied, I love writing and I like their poetry, but it’s silly to compare.

Yes. I wonder why people always have to compete, to push down the other person, and so on, in areas of life where it is not necessary. In a race or a game, the idea is to try to win, and there are rules and so on, so that it is fun to test yourself. But in life, it is not so clear cut and yet it happens on and on.

I guess it is a survival instinct wired in our brain circuit and humanity has problem in disabling it to enable us to live better. It is not clash of civilization, but clash of insanity.

Kan, the choice is full of risk and challenges. I doubt peace and friendship will prevail, if there are ambitious leaders. Thank you for your haiku. I will respond with a tanka.
