RENGA WITH Y.C.KAN ECHOES 9: ONE CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN

RENGA WITH Y.C.KAN ECHOES 9: ONE CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN

Crows in air parade

Iguanas slide the ground

Land cleanly scavenged

nation is white washed and cleaned

salvation by scavengers

Note:

  1. C. Kan responded to Crow City in a haiku/senryu (5/7/5 syllables). It has inspired me to add in two lines (7/7 syllables) to form a renga or tanka.

MALAYSIAN HAIKU/SENRYU ECHOES 424: CROW CITY

MALAYSIAN HAIKU/SENRYU ECHOES 424: CROW CITY

raven or black crow

litter bugs change birds’ food chain

noisy scavengers

flock of same feathers

populate fast with droppings

stench and ugly sight

clean up for civic

good game for gun carnival

crows shift but not sluts

Note:

This serial haiku/senryu is posted by Helene Vaillant’s photo prompt dated on 6th January, 2019. I have returned to Malaysia yesterday. Obviously the physical sight of these birds in my neighbourhood inspired much more vigorously.  My city is well known for crows and the polluters. The British colonialists brought crows from India to help pests control in the farms, but these birds multiply so fast, and with the new food supply, scavenging promises good prospect than the hard work in the agriculture fields. The municipal solution was an easy recurring roles.
