TANKA WITH TANKA ECHOES 83: PROXIMITY AND FRAGILITY

TANKA WITH TANKA ECHOES 83: PROXIMITY AND FRAGILITY

Claudia McGill in her Tanka 68 wrote:

a contented pair

sugar bowl and cream pitcher

settled on their tray

rims touching handles nested

leaning into each other

This is my response in Tanka 83: PROXIMITY AND FRAGILITY

exists as a pair

proximity endearment

handle with great care

fragile, broken with rough rub

treasure and polish with time

MALAYSIAN HAIKU ECHOES 217: DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES

MALAYSIAN HAIKU ECHOES 217: DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES

I was impressed by Claudia McGill art, House inside a Fairy Tale, and responded in a visual haiku thus: (Please visit her blog)

dwell in dream houses

striking shades in wooded park

nightmares when awake

She replied to my haiku in a tanka, thus:

black trees in warped ranks

the house turned in on itself

step out of the light

into the cool blue unknown

the nameless story begins

MALAYSIAN HAIKU/TANKA ECHOES 195: ROOF

MALAYSIAN HAIKU/TANKA ECHOES 195: ROOF

Claudia McGill composed an excellent haiku on an old stone structure:

Red roof tiles slick up

turn silver backs to the sky

 in the pounding rain

I was so inspired reading it, and added two extra seven syllables-line to turn her haiku into a tanka:

shelter against sun and rain

strong and leaked proof over years
