DRIVING IN THE RAIN: A SONNET

DRIVING IN THE RAIN: A SONNET

In heavy rain, the roads serve as drainage;

Motorists swerve wheels to avoid garbage.

Hell to the traffic, if the engine died;

Stay alert and pray for receding tide.

With luck and fate, will to destination;

The rain cools down some road rage aggression.

In chaos, hard to follow the madness;

Bonnie and Clyde pillions spot the reckless.

Victims open car doors at own peril;

With hawkish wrath, swing their lethal metal.

We watch the tragedy as they happen;

Law makers console that these are common.

In a torrent, the corrupted dams break;

Infrastructure and security shake.
